"Temporal distance" may also be a "sense of movement."

Hello, this is Mayumasa.

So far, I've been talking about travel.
One word that comes to mind when thinking about travel is "distance."
Think "close" or "far."

But people also say "temporal distance."
Like, "It took me two hours to get here."

But there's another expression like that.
"Time heals all wounds."
A phrase that many of you may already use.
I also came across this in a book I read the other day.

"Research shows that when people are facing difficulties,
imagining how they will feel 10 years from now, rather than the next day,
is another extremely effective way to put their experience into perspective.
This helps people understand that their experience is only temporary.
And hope arises."

And it continues:

"The benefits of mental time travel aren't just limited to getting a bird's-eye view of the past and spinning a positive story about the present.
There are also benefits to traveling to the future in your mind.
This is a tool called "maintaining temporal distance."

It seems that by thinking of time as distance,
you can avoid interpreting or perceiving things with a biased perspective or way of thinking,
and arrive at more correct interpretations, perceptions, and judgments.

I love to fantasize, so I often travel to the future (lol).
That way, I can easily reset myself whenever I want.
To me, this is also a "sense of movement."

When you think about it this way, humans really are "free" to think and come up with whatever they want.
And if you think that way, it will lead to "action,"
and it seems you can become a different person than you were yesterday.

Travel really is the best tool!

Today, the weather is sunny, a stark contrast to yesterday.
So, I'm off to "move" to discover a new side of myself.

Have another wonderful travel experience today!
